It’s not as pretty as a real cake…but I know you all are SUPER smart and get the idea of what the actual cake will look like!! – and these digital designs are exactly like the real thing…just cartoonized (is that a word?!)! :) Plus, I don’t think you need to see a “real” cake to get the idea. You will start to see more and more digital designs like this “Geometric Triangles” one you can find in my store.
Now…I need your help!!!
Because I want to be your source of inspiration and design and help you pull off those graphic patterns you just can’t figure out, I’d love for you to send me pictures when you see a design that would be perfect as a cake!! I’m not promising the moon, but if you’d love to turn it into a cake, then send it on over to me and perhaps I could create that design and it would become the Design of the Week!! I’d send you a free template so you could make it for yourself and I can post your name, website or Facebook info to say THANKS!! I’m always looking for new ideas…and you never know when those patterns may jump up in your face and say, “MAKE ME INTO A CAKE!!” So…keep your eyes open for me and shoot me a photo when you find something that would be fun to create!! You can post a pic on my Facebook page HERE or leave it in the comments below.
Yay!! I love your Craftsy class, so excited to have access to more of your fabulous designs. I know what you mean about seeing potential cake designs everywhere. My friends tease me because I am always raking pictures of patterns or color combinations that I think would make good cakes.
Yay!! I am glad I’m not alone!!!! If you ever want to throw some of those pics my way if love to see them! If I can turn one into a template, I’ll give you a free copy! blessings!!!
This is SO brilliant, Jess!!!!! I love it, and am super dee duper excited for you!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my goodness! These are beautiful! The first and the last cakes are my favorites. Looking forward to more designs! =)
OMG, thank you so much for share your ideas. I love your work and your classes. Blessing.
Such spectacular cakes! Loved your class
Hi Jessica! Abundant blessings to you for your generous spirit of sharing your amazing talent with us!!
May I know how do you achieve the cobalt blue color and turquoise color for your fondant cakes here and are the bold color flowers modelling choc or coloured wafer paper?
Lookin forward to your reply!! God bless!
Michelle
Thank you SO much!!
The cobalt blue was made with a Royal Blue from Americolor and a little black. The turquoise is my favorite Americolor “Turquoise” color! LOVE it because depending on how much you add can vary the shade. I also add a little TINY bit of royal blue if I want it a more “Tiffany Blue”. For the coral flower, it’s colored edible paper (not wafer paper). The edible paper you’d use for printing. You can just print a whole page colored! Or air brush it. Honestly, I’ve also used construction paper…the pretty kind at Micheal’s or Joann’s! You can get almost ANY color and make them SO fast. Plus, no one eats the flowers anyway so who cares! – at least…for me, especially if it’s a friend or a family member and I need something super fast! May the Lord bless you too!!!
Love it!!
Beautiful cakes jessica but how did you get the gold effect on your cakes? Thanx
Thank you! I used yellow fondant then brushed on the gold luster dust mixed with lemon extract. I show how to do metallics in my class “Simply Modern Cake Design” if you’re interested!
Lovely cakes. Great talent. Keep up the good work.
