It’s Template Tuesday and I’m so excited because I have a FREE template to give you today!! Today’s pattern is all about the skinny chevron. I love love love this version of the chevron because it’s a bit more dainty than it’s larger older sister (see Large Chevron Template HERE). It can be made to look so feminine and beautiful whereas the other is for a bolder look! You’ll get three spacing options in the template for various design options. There’s 3/16″, 1/2″ and 3/4″ spacing. You can also turn the templates vertically to create fun stripes!!
There are endless color and design options here!! I colored these digital sketches with some sparkly gold so you can see them shine!!!

But, if you’re not familiar with my templates and how to use them, let me explain briefly…
I developed a process for placing graphics onto your cakes in a very clean and precise way. Have you noticed whenever you try to apply a long horizontal stripe, or a complex shape, it can bend, stretch or tear before you get it on your cake?! Also, trying to line up endless polka dots or geometric patterns can be so time consuming in order to make sure everything looks even and precise.Well…no longer!! With my wax paper transfer technique, you can create a sticker using my templates and apply those designs onto your cakes perfectly and in LESS time! – yes…less time!! If we can save time…it’s like paying yourself back!
Designing cakes is my most favorite thing!! So, now I create templates for you to use with various cutters that are readily available from stores like Amazon, Global Sugar Art and Not Just Cakes By Annie, Michael’s and Joann’s. In fact, you probably already have a lot of them…and you’ll see me use the same sets over and over in various ways!!
I also create my own “templates” you can cut out and use without having to purchase cutters for those smaller projects. You just print the template, cut it out and use it on top of your fondant/modeling chocolate to cut out the shapes you want. Then, place them on your cake. I share ALL about this process in my first Craftsy Class, “Clean and Simple Cake Design“. I also teach you how to make fondant, make modeling chocolate, get a perfect crumb coat on round and square cakes as well as cover them both in fondant. It’s a huge class and well worth your time and money. It will truly save you hours and hours and give you better results than you thought possible. It’s been SO fun for me to share this class with you and hear how it’s changed your cake making life!! :) LOVE it!! So, if you’re not familiar with this technique and how to use the templates I’m creating, check out the class. The link above is for 50% off!
So, head over to my store and download this beautiful pattern!! Use it on your next project and post some pictures on my Facebook page so I can see they look!!
Happy cake making!!
I love your templates! I have purchased 2 of your classes and they helped my confidence immensely!
I am trying to “purchase” this freebie but it keeps saying there’s nothing in my cart.
I’m so sorry! There was a little hiccup this morning but I think we fixed it. Please try again and if it’s still not working, let me know. For now, you can also head over to Craftsy to download it there…here’s the link:
