I’m excited to share with you a beautiful gold metallic fondant stripe video tutorial today!! I used this technique for the top of my Metallic Mermaid Cake that I made for my newest Craftsy class, “The Clean & Simple Collection: Playful Techniques“. This class was SO full of techniques (over 30 to be precise) that we simply had to eliminate a few things to meet our time line. I wanted to show this stripe but we just couldn’t fit it in. Which I actually ended up being happy about because now I get to do it for you and have it up here for free for EVERY one!
I show how to gradient your fondant from one color to another (without an airbrush) and apply these metallic scales during the class…so, I won’t be showing you that here today. If you want to see what is in the class and everything you’ll learn, click HERE to save $20 and watch the little intro video. Be sure to check out the class photos on this link too! There’s a TON!Okay!! On to this sweet little metallic stripe!!
Here is the video!! Enjoy!
The wafer paper flower seen below is from my second class, “Simply Modern Cake Design”. Click HERE for 50% off that class.
To create the flower center, take a ball of fondant and used some tiny cuticle scissors I use for cake decorating and began at the outside edge and just clipped into the fondant and worked my way around and around until I got up to the center. Super simple!!
I hope you enjoyed the tutorial! Thanks for stopping by!
